Crimson Dragon 24×32″ Canvas

The Japanese maple tree appears to have summoned a mythical creature from ancient lore. With the sinuous trunk twisting like a dragon’s tail and vibrant red leaves igniting the sky, the scene is a captivating fusion of fantasy and reality.

Channelling my inner foliage commando, I lay down and burrowed my lens deep between the leaves and branches. The darkness inside required multiple bracketed exposures to reveal the glowing colours of the leaves, the details in the twisting trunk, and beautiful sporadic green mosses.
